Babette van Beest

I’m Babette van Beest, raised in Enschede (Eastern Netherlands). The no-nonsense mentality I grew up with shapes everything I do: saying it like it is, getting things done, and never losing sight of the person behind the case.

Babette van Beest AVB Law

“As a personal injury lawyer, I combine my practice with academic research into the claims settlement relationship between road accident victims and liability insurers. Alongside my casework, I publish and speak on personal injury law — because I believe the law should better reflect what victims actually go through. The combination of academia and practice helps me make complex legal questions accessible and actionable, and allows me to actively contribute to the public debate on personal injury law. I also regularly speak at symposia and teach at the Open Universiteit.

What drives me in my work is the knowledge that an accident can change someone’s life in an instant. In those moments, I want to be there: to listen, to bring clarity, and to make sure my clients feel supported in a process that is already difficult enough.”
